In order to create an overall view of the multiple designs by different architectural offices, BOA created this interactive tool as a guide to juxtapose the various project submissions based on BUSarchitektur’s masterplan for the new campus of Vienna’s University of Economy and Business Administration (Campus WU).
The configurators ensured that all competition entries would be visualised in a uniform way, preventing the jury from being seduced by distorted visions of one project. The key was to both illustrate each project‘s different characteristics while also conveying the need for the whole Campus to be a coherent and harmonizing unit. Another advantage of this uniform visualization was the possibility of objective design comparisons from the perspective of architectural laymen, since many key factors could be quickly identified at a glance.
